Phobias
Phobia is characterized by intense, excessive, persistent, and uncontrollable fear associated with real or even imaginary situations, causing anxiety, uncontrollable distress, and panic attacks.
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 20% of the world’s population suffers from some form of phobia.

Fears
Fear, inherent in every human being, is a spontaneous and natural reaction when confronted with a situation of real danger. It validates our survival instinct because when we become aware of the danger, our body reacts through fight or flight.
Phobias and Fears
Phobias are usually associated with some trauma or negative individual experience. In this case, the lived experience is real.
However, phobias can also be linked to an unreal, imaginary fear. In this case, the mind creates hypothetical scenarios when faced with the possibility of experiencing a very unpleasant future.
In both cases, phobias can generate high levels of fear, leading to persistent anxiety, uncontrollable distress, panic attacks, and may even be responsible for the development of psychosomatic illnesses.
Phobias should be treated as soon as possible, as they affect not only mental health but also physical and social health.
